Company 03:23
If you carry the weight of the world Or wear your heart on a sleeve You might need some guidance Take some company If your soul's like a stormy sea Or a forest in the breeze You might need some guidance Take some company Oh sunlight shines But your soul gets left behind In the shadows If you carry the weight of the world Or wear your heart on a sleeve You might need some guidance Take some company

Hard times they come and go It's up to you to carry the load And although the road is long You'll be strong I know your heart's been torn But you'll find peace amidst the storm And although the road is long You'll be strong Hard to write I've got a friend in need Hard to say I know the world seems cold But you shouldn't hide away The way ahead it feels unknown Some walks you have to take alone And although the road is long You'll be strong Hard to write I've got a friend in need Hard to say I know the world seems cold But you shouldn't just hide away Life at times can take it's toll You build a fortress around your soul And although the road is long You'll be strong I know your heart's been torn But you'll find peace amidst the storm And although the road is long You'll be strong Hard to write I've got a friend in need Hard to say I know the world seems cold But you shouldn't just hide away

Learning to live without you I know I've got to try Learning to live without you My tears won't dry Learning to live without your love I'm trying to be strong Learning to live without you It feels so wrong All the memories I keep them quietly Hold them close to me One more time Learning to live without you I know I've got to try Learning to live without you My tears won't dry Learning to live without your heart Beating close to mine Learning to live without you It just takes time All the memories I keep them quietly Hold them close to me Locked inside my aching heart Learning to live without you Blue is me Just know that I love you I'll always hold you near Learning to live without you I know I've got to try Learning to live without you My tears won't dry Learning to live without your heart Beating close to mine Learning to live without you It just takes time All the memories I keep them quietly Hold them close to me Locked inside my aching heart

Paper 03:37
In your eyes I've realised It's only just begun We've come so far And made it through darkest skies Last summertime We were one And now it just feels right It's only paper But it means so much to me And that's real Without a doubt we've had some hills To climb so steep We've seen so much It sometimes made us weak But we'll make We'll make it through And I depend on you It's only paper But it means so much to me And that's real It's only paper But it means so much to me And that's real I have heard it said That everyone will find A place to rest their hair In your eyes I've realised It's only just begun We've realigned And made it through darkest skies Last summertime We were one And now it just feels right It's only paper But it means so much to me And that's real It's only paper But it means so much to me And that's real

about

A beautifully stripped back EP full of passion, vibe and energy. Recorded in just a day, RJM turned up at Soup Studio in London with a cellist, a pianist and 4 songs about love, loss & mental health. Played together in a room live with only 1 backing vocal overdub, this EP captures the soul and energy of 3 great musicians bouncing ideas of each other as they record. This is old school recording where happy accidents and mic bleed only adds to the 3D sound and atmosphere. Vintage microphones and tape machines were used to achieve a timeless sound that will never go out of fashion.

My aim was to record some songs the “old school” way after the complicated and labour intensive recording process of my first album “Wake” These days individual parts are usually recorded one at a time in order to get the perfect sound for that instrument. You get more control and modern audio editing is much easier, however I longed for the days of old where musicians would record together at the same time with shared energy. You can’t achieve the perfect takes that todays music fans are so accustomed to but you do capture a certain energy and soul especially when the musicians are really good on their instruments.

about

Ross John Martin Cambridge, UK

Ross John Martin plays beautiful acoustic music.
I was adopted as a child and as a teenager battled with an illness called M.E which left me temporary in a wheelchair. Whilst growing up with the illness I found refuge in a love for the guitar discovering folk talents such as Nick Drake and John Martyn. Overcoming odds and an awakening of the soul are a theme in my songs. ... more
